Please take a minute to verify the name that is played when a call is transferred to your voicemail is correct.
To check or rerecord your name:
- Press V-MAIL button on your phone
- Press “0” for the full menu
- Listen for the prompt that says “to record a name”
- Follow the prompts to listen or record the correct name.
Also, many new people have needed to record their greeting. To ensure consistency and efficiency, please make sure you use the script below:
“You have reached the voicemail box of _ at extension _. Please leave a message at the tone or press zero for immediate assistance.”
Be sure to smile. If you are recording a secondary greeting when you are out of the office use the following script:
“You have reached the voicemail box of _ at extension _. I am currently out of the office and will be returning on ___Please leave a message at the tone or press zero for immediate assistance.”
Please do not say things like “ I am either out of the office, on another call, or unavailable to take your call at this time, please leave a detailed message including the time you called, a number, the best time to reach you, and I will get back to you at my earliest convenience……..” ( I think you get the picture
