* e.g., *east
- finds any string that ends with east, such as “Northeast” and “Southeast”
- e.g., social –security
- finds items that contain social, but not security
“” e.g., “social security”
- finds items that contain the exact phrase social security
OR e.g., social OR security
- finds items that contain social or security
NOT e.g., social NOT security
- finds items that contain social, but not security
! e.g., !Smith
- finds all values except “Smith”
.. e.g., 1..10
- finds all values from 1 through 10
? e.g., north??st
- finds any string that starts with north and ends with st with two characters in between.
