Cube Master Requests
To make things quicker when a Cube Master calculation is needed, we all be on the same page as to what information will be needed for me to process these. This will then avoid any back and forth or missing information when you are prepping your orders to ship or getting freight quotes.
For all that don't know what the “Cube Master” software is, here's a little breakdown of the basics.
Calculates the # of pallets, weight per pallet, total weight of the shipment, cubic ft, orientation, HI-TI (# of boxes per layer and/or tier) and much more.
Provides our shipping department a detailed loading guide on how to stack these boxes on the pallets or into the trucks/containers so that we are meeting our customers requirements based on their guidelines.
How many boxes or pallets can fit in an LTL truck, full load truck or a 20-40 high cube container. Choices are floor loaded or pallet loaded.
NOTE: DIMENSIONS, WEIGHT & QUANTITY PER CARTON IS NEEDED TO PROCESS IF IT'S NOT A REGULAR ITEM WE STOCK.
So that's the basics. You're probably wondering if we have the dimensions of each item that we stock. Yes we do. for keeping these updated. The information is being pulled from our updated 2017 Master Product Data Sheet. Below are simply what I need to calculate a pallet request. I've also attached an example of what the Loading Guide looks like which I'll be adding to every requests so you can provide along with your order for our shipping team.
In this order:
Sku # and next to it list how many master cartons per sku.
Pallet height restriction, if any. Otherwise this gets calculated w/ the height of 96'.
Lists any other requirement if needed. For example, must use a 4 way pallet, weight per pallet restriction, etc. If not listed, I will process with the standard pallet 48×40 2-way.
Lastly, in the subject line, include a unique file name or Sales Pad OR# for this request along w/ the date needed. This will be used when saving the loading guide.
Here is an example:
809-00-100 = 10 master cartons
Pallet height = 72'
No other requirements
Email Subject: Quill Xmas 2017 Program Batch 1 or OR123456; Need by 9/29/2017, Friday
For container loads, we need to talk about this as there are much more requirements needed to get this calculation done correctly.
